First ‘Steve Jobs’ movie trailer has arrived.

The 38-year-old actor pulls on that famous black turtleneck jumper, a favourite garment of the late Apple CEO, in Universal’s teaser trailer of its upcoming movie, Steve Jobs. It’s had something of a tortuous development process, having originally been meant for the directing hands of David Fincher and Sony, but the aptly-named “Steve Jobs” biopic now has its first trailer.

Seth Rogen features in the 57-second clip as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while a bespectacled Kate Winslet stars as original Mac team member Joanna Hoffman. The motion picture is said to feature late Apple co-founder Jobs – who died aged 56 in October 2011 – in every scene as it depicts three backstage scenes in real-time from his famous product launch talks.

The screen begins moving in from the sides, slowly closing in on Jobs until just a white cursor on a black background is left from which “steve jobs” is written. The film also features Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team. Steve Jobs opens Oct. 9 and is, according to the synopsis, “set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.” Steve Jobs hits cinemas on October 9 – right in the middle of Apple’s annual iPhone and iPad live events that take place in September and October respectively.
