Ellie Goulding Literally Rides A Horse Through A Casino In Her ‘On My Mind’ Video.

Ellie Goulding kicked things off at London’s Roundhouse last night (September 19) for Apple Music Festival, and it’s safe to say that she’s set the bar high for the next nine acts.Ellie kicks it off sitting in a hotel room with what we assume is her not-so-nice boyfriend, who starts screaming at her as she stoically stares at the camera.

In anticipation of her upcoming album Delirium‘s November 6th release, Ellie Goulding has released a music video for the first single, “On My Mind.” Directed by Emil Nava, the video is a narrative revenge story set in Las Vegas. “It’s a weird place,” Goulding says of Sin City. “We went to this old casino and filmed stuff in there. Having only just dropped her brand new single ‘On My Mind’ earlier this week, there was a buzz of excitement for the return of the energetic songstress, as she reminded us why she’s one of the best. The singer then hooks up with her partner in crime, played by actress Cristina Squyres, as they casually ride straight into a Las Vegas casino on their horses looking like total badasses. Not sure if this a regular thing in Vegas, since the doorman opened the door for them like no big deal and fellow casino goers didn’t even bat an eye. Towards the end of her set we came to the conclusion that she’s the love child of Adele, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse, a mix we’re just a little jealous of.

Then again, what happens in Vegas… “I had that lightbulb moment of ’let’s go to Vegas,’ and I wanted to do something kind of badass ’Thelma & Louise’ style and I found the perfect girl to go in the video with me and she did it so well,” Ellie recently told us. “There are some really explosive scenes. It’s kind of got a Thelma & Louise thing about it. ” The video has a retro vibe, alternating between cotton candy pinks and soothing blues, which contrast the scene’s reality: Goulding’s lover mistreating her.

Not just sticking to her most recent album, Ellie also took things back to the record that made us fall in love with her in the first place and performed Animal, Starry Eyed AND Lights. To finish proceedings it was only right that the mascot song of Fifty Shades of Grey was next, giving the crowd a chance to belt out the lyrics to ‘Love Me Like You Do’ after it dominated the radio earlier this year. Okay, so we have two… Ellie stripped everything back halfway through the set and performed ‘Your Song’ aka the most emotional song ever and it almost had us in tears.

Way too in the zone with Ellie we didn’t actually spot anyone with our own eyes, but after some Instagram stalking it would seem Millie Mackintosh stopped by, and if you’re to believe some extremely blurry photos Niall Horan was there too…
