Ed Sheeran premieres Wembley film.

LONDON – British singer Ed Sheeran has enjoyed a meteoric rise to global stardom with a string of hits such as “Thinking Out Loud” and “Sing.” “Ed Sheeran: Jumpers for Goalposts” follows Sheeran as he played three sold-out concerts at Wembley Stadium – something he says he had always dreamed off. The ‘Hot in Here’ rapper, 40, doesn’t believe the 24-year-old singer looks like a typical pop star but, despite his average looks, he thinks his talent is unbelievably good. The singer-songwriter explained why the best gigs he has ever played have been after a heavy night. “I think it’s just because you walk onstage, you’re not complacent, you’re not onstage being like, ‘Oh, I’ve done this a million times.’ You walk onstage being like, ‘You know, I’m 90 per cent the human I should be so I’ll make sure I give 115 per cent.’” “I just find whenever I’m on a British Airlines flight I always watch someone’s concert film, I was never really a fan of Justin Bieber, and then I watched Never Say Never and then it made sense, so I was like, ‘Oh, oh.Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber looked like long-term pals as they shared jokes and goofed around at the London premiere of Ed’s first concert film Jumpers For Goalposts.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “Ed Sheeran is a freak man, you look at him and think, ‘He can’t be a pop star’, but he’s killing it. And while their friendship may come as a bit of a surprise to some fans, it comes as Biebs revealed the duo have only gone and collaborated on his new album. The Thinking Out Loud singer also hinted that his highly-anticipated collaborations with The Game and Rudimental could be out sooner than we think, confirming that he had produced an impressive 12 songs with them. I’m also a big fan of him as a person, I think he’s just easy to talk to, he’s just a cool guy.” The pair have also worked on a song for Bieber’s forthcoming album.

Justin appeared to joke about their contrasting outfits, with Ed wearing a three piece suit and navy tie while Justin showed up in a casual hoody and cap. It’s been a busy 2015 for the redheaded musician, who has picked up accolades including two BRITs, an Ivor Novello Award and two People’s Choice Awards so far. Meanwhile, the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker has had a whirlwind few years and has now decided to spend nine months away from the spotlight to be with his family. The Canadian singer revealed the exciting collaboration news at the event, telling CapitalFM: ‘I think Ed is super talented, one of the most talented writers and guitar players we have right now, so to come here was nothing, I love supporting him. ‘We’ve known each other for some years now and he’s just overall just a great guy and we actually collaborated on my album. He said recently: “I’ll put a post out saying, ‘I’m with friends and family – if you love me you’ll allow me to disappear for a few months and I’ll speak to you in a bit’.

It’s really awesome and I can’t wait for people to hear it.” Sheeran has cited music streaming site Spotify as a major force behind his success. I’ve got a packed schedule, then, when December 12 (end date of Ed’s x Tour) comes, it’s done.” Ed was talking from the red carpet of his feature’s premiere in London, UK, on Thursday (22Oct15) night. It’s just acoustic, nothing else, just acoustic guitar. ‘I think that that’s what he does best and that’s my roots, I started out just playing guitar and singing and doing covers on YouTube. Justin Bieber, 21, had Ed’s help on new album Purpose, and the Lego House singer has praised the way the former bad boy re-built his reputation following negative publicity including egging his neighbour’s house last year (14). “The British public kind of fell out of love with Bieber but he’s redeemed himself,” Ed added. “The one thing Bieber has done is he’s always released good music.”

I think a break for me is coming off my phone, social media and emails.” “I just want to get off it and live and drive to places and listen to music and have normal conversations with people and get back to normality. It worked 5 years ago when I was independent but you have to like have one specific thing you focus on.’ Ed also revealed that he (surprisingly) still gets nervous when he sings without his guitar, admitting: ‘I just have to get better with standing, it’s really awkward to stand without a guitar, I don’t really know what to do, my arms are just there.’ Yet even still, the 24-year-old is being hailed as the nicest man in the industry due to his down-to-earth nature, despite singing to crowds of more than 90,000 people. ‘That means missing kid’s birthdays, that means spending their birthday with us lot, (which I don’t know if that’s fun) but I’m just very grateful for people giving up their time for me to achieve my dream.’ So it was an easy collab.’ Olly Murs, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, new Spider-Man star Tom Holland and Talia Storm also supported Sheeran at the film premiere, which was streamed live across the country and worldwide. A lot of people go on about the financial thing and I definitely do agree with that for small artists and writers who are looking to get checks and stuff like that, but I think if you’re a big touring artist you shouldn’t really complain about it because I can now tour all around the world doing stadiums for Spotify.” He added that up-and-coming acts and writers should get a greater share of their profits from Spotify than established artists do such as himself. “I think that’s where the revenue should go.”
