Eagles Of Death Metal in emotional return to Bataclan.

Members of the California rock band Eagles of Death Metal have made a surprise return to a Paris stage during a concert by U2, less than a month after suicide bombers stormed the band’s Nov. 13 gig at the Bataclan theatre and killed 89 people. The group – who made their return to Paris on Monday night for the first time since 89 people lost their lives during the horrific attacks on November 13 – were spotted outside the venue.Solemn and silent, they came to the now-shuttered Bataclan theatre in eastern Paris, whose facade has become a shrine to the at least 89 people killed inside.

Band members laid flowers at the site under a persistent December rain, some embracing as they stared at the wreaths, notes and banners heaped in mourning and tribute. In the wake of the massacre, Bono had spoken with two EODM members, Julian Dorio and Jesse Hughes, to offer them the use of U2’s plane and to provide them with new cell phones, the Times reported. “We want to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everything our brothers in U2 did for us in the aftermath of the November 13 attacks,” EODM wrote in the post. “They reminded us that the bad guys never take a day off, and therefore we rock ’n rollers cannot either…and we never will.” The Paris concerts of U2’s iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE, which were initially scheduled for NoV. 14 and had to be rescheduled following the attacks, were a tribute to the City of Light and a show of solidarity for reeling Parisians. “Vive la France (…) Tonight are all Parisians. During the concert, U2 added a poignant mark of respect to the victims of the attacks with a huge display of the French tricolour and the names of those who died on a screen in the centre of the AccorHotels Arena. Just before the band emerged Monday night, U2 frontman Bono said there was “nothing left except to introduce you to some people whose lives will forever be a part of this city of Paris.
