Kate Middleton: The Duchess looks radiant in baby blue as she visits charity.

Pregnant bundled up her baby bump in an adorably classic ensemble for three back-to-back stops in the London neighborhood of Kensington on Monday, Jan. 19.In response, an understanding Kate, 33, who wore a baby blue coat by maternity designer Seraphine, told him, “I would be shy as well,” as the boy’s mother, Tracy Samuels, presented the Duchess with the bouquet of white lilacs and nasturtiums.

A bashful two-year-old tries to run away and hide after being overcome by an attack of shyness while presenting flowers to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge He had spent all weekend practising for his big moment presenting a bouquet to the Duchess of Cambridge, but when two-year-old Ryan Dixon came face to face with the Royal guest, he had a sudden attack of shyness. After a quiet weekend spent with husband Prince William and little Prince George at her parents’ home in Bucklebury, Kate came to London’s Kensington neighborhood to meet with volunteers and beneficiaries of the charity Family Friends.

First, Middleton, 33, headed to a coffee meeting with Family Friends, a volunteer organization that helps befriend and mentor families in the more deprived areas of London. Although Kensington is known for its fabulously wealthy residents and its palace, it also has areas of deprivation, so Family Friends provides mentoring services to families in need. “My children are happy and healthy, I have finished my degree and gone back to work. I have even started mentoring other refugees,” she said. “The Duchess was lovely, very empathetic and said she was happy for me.” Kate then headed to the new Kensington Aldridge Academy, which she formally opened. Wearing a £99 maternity dress by Seraphine and a £195 pale blue coat from the same brand, she stepped out of her car at 10am and was greeted by excited staff.

She also stopped by the school’s Creates Hub for young entrepreneurs, and met students who are designing items for sale at nearby Portobello Road Market, Notting Hill. As the Duchess left, Ryan, one of only two children at the event, was called forward but it quickly became clear he was daunted by the task as his mother tried to coax him along. Next, she was set to open the neighboring leisure center that’s been built on the same spot as an old pool where William, 32, and his brother Prince Harry, learned to swim. She’s expected to join her parents for a family winter vacation in the Caribbean next week, as mum Carole is set to mark her 60th birthday on Mustique.

The Middletons make annual holidays to the sunshine island – last year Kate took George for the first time, while the previous year she and William had a babymoon there. Miss Samuels, who works as a care team supervisor at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea pensioners, is a veteran of royal occasions, having the Queen, Princess Royal and Countess of Wessex when they have visited her workplace. The students also sang the Duchess the school song—half-panicked, she did tell the principal with a laugh, “I thought you were going to ask me to sing then!”—and they gifted Prince George, 17 months, with an xylophone. As for William, he is currently hitting the books, doing his commercial pilots’ license exams before on-board training for his air ambulance job that begins in the spring. From there, Middleton took a short walk over to the Kensington Leisure Centre, where students of the nearby Wetherby School, clad in their plaid uniforms, excitedly stood outside waving small recreations of the British flag to greet her upon her arrival.

She went on to her second engagement of the day, opening a new school, where the theme continued as a baby burst into tears on being introduced to her. Larter, who already has 3½-year-old son Theodore with writer hubby Hayes MacArthur, first announced the news in early August and later confessed to PEOPLE that she has a game plan for avoiding sibling rivalry. “We’re definitely working him, bribing him, whatever we have to do to make sure he doesn’t sneak into that crib and dangle that baby by its feet,” she joked of prepping her son for big brotherhood.

Mrs Benson said: “It has been fantastic – it’s like giving birth twice.” During her tour of the school the Duchess met children in reading groups, including one 11-year-old girl reading a book called How To Avoid A Wombat’s Bum. After visiting one classroom for a geography lesson, the Duchess visited another where the pupils were learning history. “What is your favourite school food?” she asked them. “Fish and chips,” replied one boy. Excited to discuss her royal encounter, McDonagh added, “I told her I hoped it was a girl, but she said she doesn’t know yet,” Martina said afterwards. “She said it was moving around a lot.” Before heading back to the palace, the Duchess received one last present for baby Prince George: an inflatable duck float. White was being driven around the lot in a golf cart when an assistant asked her, “Is today your actual birthday?” As White was driven up to the set, she was met by the cast and crew doing the hula. “Everyday on set, Betty is greeted by her assistant with a hula – today’s hula dance was a very special surprise in honor of her 93rd birthday!” TV Land wrote in a caption accompanying a video of the surprise. The couple of three years might not know the baby’s gender yet, but they already have the little one’s godfather selected: Seymour’s ex, Simon Cowell, who offered up his services. “I was like, ‘Okay,’ and he said, ‘I’m serious,'” she recalled. “It kind of makes sense since I’m [his son] Eric’s godmother.” For anyone hoping that the actress and director’s next big collaboration would be another installment in the Resident Evil franchise, well, that won’t be the case.

Jovovich – who in August, confirmed the couple is expecting baby No. 2 – joked on Facebook, “We didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo!” Girl power! Finally, the three main Hot in Cleveland stars, Valerie Bertinelli (Melanie), Jane Leeves (Joy), and Wendie Malick (Victoria), emerged as the group shouted, “Happy birthday, Betty!” And not one to pass up a good opportunity, Carrie announced her baby news on Labor Day, natch (via a picture of her pups, the future big siblings). “We haven’t picked names yet but it’s looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher,” Fisher joked on Twitter. And she used social media to her advantage for the big reveal. “#tbt to the place where Michael asked me to marry him, and this past year where we stood as a family of three!

The country singer slyly revealed he’s going to be a dad again during a concert in September when he changed a lyric in his tune “Sinners Like Me” from, “Give my dad a grandson of his own,” to “Give my dad another grandson of his own.” Baby-to-be will join the couple’s son Boone McCoy, 3. Shortly after telling PEOPLE she and husband Scott Stuber were working on expanding their family, the model and actress took to her website to share the big news. “Scott, Brooks, and I are welcoming a fourth member to our little family – our second child!” Sims wrote in September, alongside a photo with her 2-year-old son. “I absolutely cannot wait to see what life will be like as a mother to a toddler and a newborn,” she added. The model mom will soon have one more baby to add to her brood: PEOPLE confirmed in October that Simmons is expecting a child with her investment banker husband, Tim Leissner. This is the fashion mogul’s fourth child: She is already mom to daughters Ming, 14, and Aoki, 12, with Russell Simmons, and 5-year-old son Kenzo with Djimon Hounsou.
