Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas team up for Future Now summer tour.

It may be the middle of fall, but Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas already gave fans something to do next summer. The two singers are teaming up to co-headline Future Now: The Tour, they announced Monday. “The most important thing is taking the show on the road and getting to share this experience with all the fans that have supported this music for the past, you know, couple of years,” Lovato said during a Monday appearance on Good Morning America with Jonas. The “Camp Rock” co-stars teamed up in 2010 when Lovato opened for the Jonas Brothers at Ak-Chin Pavilion (although at the time it was Cricket Wireless Pavilion). The “Jealous” singer added: “Demi and I were business partners and, obviously, have a long history of being friends, but the chief for us was about living in this moment, taking a step out individually over the last year and a half, two years, growing with our fans, and saying if there’s ever a time to do it, it’s now, to come together and do this tour.” The 44-date arena tour kicks off June 24 at Florida’s BB&T Center and ends Sept. 17 in Los Angeles. The tour is a bit of a high school reunion for Lovato and Jonas, who co-starred in the Disney Channel’s “Camp Rock” TV movies and have grown into compelling adult performers—Lovato with fiery new album “Confident” and Jonas with 2014’s self-titled album, along with TV roles in “Scream Queens” and “Kingdom.”

Lovato, who played Philips Arena in 2014, just released her fifth studio album, “Confident,” which supplied the hit “Cool for the Summer” during the appropriate season and is now gaining traction thanks to her riveting performance on “Saturday Night Live” of new single, “Stone Cold.” Jonas, meanwhile, should take up a residence in Atlanta considering he played a sold-out Tabernacle show in September and will return to town Dec. 17 as part of Power 96.1’s Jingle Ball. Recently, Jonas released new singles “Levels” and “Area Code,” though he has not confirmed when he will drop his next solo album and his own Safehouse debut. 2015 may not bring everything that Back to the Future II promised it would: flying cars, self-lacing shoes, we don’t see ’em happening over the next 12 months. (Then again, don’t bet against Nike.) But this year will definitely pack plenty of punch when it comes to cultural happenings. Mad Max will roar back out of the apocalypse while Mad Men rides off into the sunset, rock’s Antichrist Superstar and hip-hop’s Yeezus will rise again.
