‘Dancing With the Stars’: Who won?.

“Dancing With the Stars” has had a lovely season with some truly kind souls and one of the sweetest of them all Bindi Irwin took the mirror ball trophy home.Australian actress and presenter Bindi Irwin has won Dancing with the Stars US, after captivating audiences around the world over the last three months on the show. She technically wasn’t a celebrity per se, but the daughter of the late great Steve Irwin, the Australian animal wildlife expert who was known as the “Crocodile Hunter” but died in a tragic accident in 2006 after being pierced by a stingray. Not surprisingly, Alek Skarlatos came in third but the fact he was there at all was a miracle. “This has been the craziest ride of my life,” he said.

Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak came back to do the dance she was meant to do for TV theme week but was disqualified when she wasn’t allowed to fly after a minor heart attack. Gary Busey played Santa Claus in a sketch called “Twas the Night Before Finals.” Chaka Khan performed “I’m Every Woman.” Kim Zolciak performed a routine with an “I Dream of Jeannie” theme that she couldn’t deliver earlier because she left the show for health reasons.

In the last element of competition, the couples performed a new routine as part of a “24-Hour Fusion Challenge.” The remaining couples fused two contrasting dance styles that they’ve performed this season and had less than 24 hours to prepare that dance for judges’ points. (ABC/Adam Taylor)
