Dan Aykroyd has confirmed he will appear in the Ghostbusters reboot.

The actor – who played Ray Stantz in the 1984 original and 1989 sequel – broke the news via his Twitter account, revealing to his followers that he had been on the set of the film – and had nothing but praise for the female ghostbusters. Exhilarating!’ It’s not yet clear what part the actor will be playing in the film, although website Indie Revolver claims (mild spoilers may lie ahead) that he will appear as a cab driver. ‘At some point Aykroyd throws out the iconic line, “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!” and drives off with Wiig yelling something along the lines of “That’s a double negative! That means you ARE afraid of ghosts!”.’ According to reports Wiig and McCarthy play authors who publish a book proposing that ghosts are real – only to have to tackle a real supernatural threat in New York City years later.
