Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Movie Loses Director.

As you may know, that film turned out pretty horribly, with Trank disowning it just before release. One source told The Hollywood Reporter that a changing script caused the film’s budget to be larger than expected, extending the shoot, and prompting the push. “I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project,” said Wyatt in a statement. “I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.” The movie project is an important one for the studio, which is hoping that it launches onto the screen as an important character as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, one of the lynchpins of the X-Men universe.Channing Tatum’s Gambit has already had its fair share of problems, but it seem the superhero movie has fallen four of yet another issue, this time concerning its director, as word is Rupert Wyatt has walked away from helming the movie.

The next film in Fox’s superhero franchise to be released will be X-Men: Apocalypse, which stars Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman. No word on whether this will mean a push back on the release date for Gambit, which is scheduled for the 7th of October 2016…more as and when we hear. Whether that’s the case, it’s expected the studio will push on to find a new person for the director’s chair as it lines up the ragin’ Cajun as a key component in Fox’s interconnected cinematic universe.
