Game Of Thrones fans given tantalising, teasing glimpse of season six.

It featured clips from “True Detective,” “The Leftovers,” “Silicon Valley,” “Veep,” “Girls” and, oh, yeah, a little show called “Game of Thrones.” At first glance, the video doesn’t seem like much – just TV highlights from the past year.Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) pops up, as does the sadistic Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and there’s also a quick flash of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).HBO gave Game of Thrones fans a treat on Sunday, Dec. 6, when they posted a year-end video via Twitter, celebrating the network’s successes in 2015 and giving a few glimpses of what’s to come in 2016. But if you stick around until the 1:45 mark (just after Bono raises his fist to the sky; the rescheduled U2 “Innocence + Experience: Live From Paris” show airs tonight at 9 p.m. on the premium cable network), you will be treated to what’s in store for 2016.

However, there is no sign of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), despite his appearance on the teaser poster and his inclusion in the first trailer for season six. Amongst the sneak-peeks (which included Kerry Washington in Confirmation and the new season of Girls) was a few seconds of GoT’s much anticipated sixth season for the first time (GoT’s season 6 trailer premiered last week but had no new footage to see). The trailer focused on tragedies that have hit the Stark family, including the beheading of Ned (Sean Bean), the infamous Red Wedding slaughter and the betrayal of Snow. Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) sums up the feeling of many fans when he closes the trailer with: “They have no idea what’s going to happen.” So much focus on the illegitimate son of Ned Stark suggests he is still alive, despite appearing to be killed by his fellow Night’s Watchmen in the season five finale. Sorry folks, there’s no Jon Snow, but there’s a somber-looking Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Iwan Rheon as Ramsay Bolton and a close-cropped Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister (“Shame!” – sorry, habit) embracing her kingly son, Tommen Baratheon.
