Cara Delevingne told to ‘take a nap’ during awkward US interview

Cara Delevingne accused of being ‘moody’ and ‘irritable’ by anchors in awkward interview.

An interview with Cara Delevingne was cut short when the actress was told to “go and take a nap” and scolded by her hosts on an American morning show. Paper Towns star Cara Delevingne’s interview with Good Day Sacramento turned into car-crash TV as she became irritated with the anchors, who complained about her attitude and told her to “take a nap”.

It opened with the anchor woman on the show calling her ‘Carla’, and ended with her telling Cara to ‘go take a nap’ and drink a Red Bull to remedy her seemingly snarky attitude. The anchors started with some pretty patronising questions about whether the model-turned-actress had found the time to actually read John Green’s novel, Paper Towns, or whether she was “too busy”. Delevingne’s sarcastic answers (“No, I didn’t read the book or the script”) fell on deaf ears, though she might be forgiven for being a little put out after one of the anchors mistakenly called her Carla.

Instead of asking incisive questions about her role and the film, she was quizzed on being busy, tired, and asked how she managed to “focus” on different projects simultaneously. The 22-year-old model strained to crack a smile and rolls her eyes as the questions continue, dismissing a bumbling question about whether she functions better when she’s busy with “No, I don’t know where that comes from. What do you think?’ Another anchor, not even involved in the interview, jumped in to say ‘love the movie, I love the author, this was the adolescent I wanted to be…with that said I saw you in London talking a couple of weeks ago on TV and you seemed a lot more excited about it than you do right now. The same anchor then asked her what she liked about her character, Margo, and whether they had anything in common, to which Delevingne joked, “No, I actually hate her.” The exchange continued in this vein until a third anchor jumped in and informed her that she just didn’t seem “excited” enough. “Are you just exhausted?” he asked, eliciting a shocked look from Delevigne. “The premiere was last night,” she replied. “It was a very emotional night, felt like the end of an era. Perhaps it’s just us,” prompting Delevingne to respond: “Yes, perhaps it is just you.” Delevingne was clearly taken a back and could be heard muttering “too far” before she was taken off air.

She was in a mood!” Another mused: “You make $5 million for six weeks of work, you can pretend to talk to ‘Good Day Sacramento’ with some ‘oomph’!”
