Caitlyn Jenner Clears Up Gay Marriage Views

Caitlyn Jenner SUPPORTS gay marriage just weeks after awkward exchange with Ellen DeGeneres.

Why should we care that a woman who makes her living raising Kardashians on reality TV (as opposed to, say, working as a county clerk) has publicly evolved on a topic that has already been settled in the highest court of the land? (If not, frustratingly, in the court of public opinion.) First, the back story. But after some time to contemplate her stance she revealed how she now feels in her latest blog post, written to mark the end of the first series of her show.In her blog, the 65-year-old Caitlyn Jenner was asked that what’s next for her, she replied, “Many of you have written and asked what’s next for me I’ m going to take (a) breather for a minute.

Jenner appeared on the season premiere of Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, during which DeGeneres pointed out that Jenner’s conservative politics seem to work against her own best interests — many Republicans’ rejection of same-sex marriage, for example. “I’m a traditionalist,” Jenner said. “I’m older than most people in the audience, you know? Talking about her house, the ‘I Am Cait’ star said that she had no idea about where and what to start in the beginning but once she figured out her style and taste, she picked up various items. But I also understand it takes some getting used to.” “But after hearing from my gay friends and learning more about the hardships they faced because of discrimination, it became clear to me that everyone should be able to marry the person they love. Ellen and Cait enjoyed a rather awkward exchange regarding the issue a couple of weeks ago when the TV presenter brought up that Caitlyn had previously identified as a conservative republican. She went on to question why Caitlyn would identify in such a way, reminding her that it would go against some of the issues affecting the trans community, including same-sex marriage.

If Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who went to jail for defying a federal mandate that she issue same-sex marriage licenses, were able to examine the issue without placing herself squarely in the center, she would see that her stance simply obfuscates a larger truth: Davis’ own treatment of marriage, it has been pointed out exhaustively, is anything but traditional. I mean I like tradition and it’s always been a man and a woman and I’m thinking I don’t quite get it. “But as time has gone on, like a lot of people on this issue, I’ve really changed my thinking here, to I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.
