Annie Leibovitz Will Photograph Bruce Jenner for Vanity Fair Cover.

SINCE opening up about being transgender, Bruce Jenner is now preparing to take the next step — by appearing as the woman on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Jenner, who first publicly spoke about being a woman stuck in a man’s body in an interview with Diane Sawyer in April, is about to unveil his new womanly image. Citing “an industry source,” People says that famed portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz will shoot the pictorial, Jenner’s first since announcing “I consider myself a woman” during a two-hour ABC special in April.

It will mark Jenner’s first full-on photo shoot as a woman and the first time the transgender father of 10 will do a print shoot and interview since he revealed in April that he is transitioning from male to female. According to NY Daily News, Jenner’s stepdaughter Kim Kardashian West and ex-wife Kris Jenner are helping him to take control of his new public image with a carefully hatched PR plan. On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that aired last week, Jenner told his family that “you will see me and you will know” when it was time to start referring to him as “her.” Jenner is also apparently considering arranging for a photographer to “accidentally” come across the former Olympian while running errands as “her,” as Jenner calls his female identity. “He will set it up ahead of time and either come out on a normal day — and from then on he’ll be a woman in his daily life for the public — or he’ll go to a dinner and be in a dress. The photo shoot will apparently be timed to come out at around the same time as Jenner’s eight-part docuseries about his life that is scheduled to premiere on July 26.
