Bad News About Bristol Palin’s Weekend Wedding to Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer.

Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding. Former Alaska Governor and GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin announced on her Facebook page that the wedding of her daughter Bristol and Medal of Honor winner Dakota Meyer has been called off. And apparently, the younger Palin has inherited her mother’s famous disdain for the media: “Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement,” she wrote. “Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers.

Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway – and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at “the old Kentucky home” on May 23 to celebrate life, in general! As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency.” Mama Palin said that even though the wedding is off, the party will go on. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart.” Meyer, 26, was part of a pre-dawn patrol in the Afghan village of Ganjgal when two Marine platoons were ambushed by more than 50 enemy fighters firing rocket propelled grenades, mortars, and machine guns.
