Bridesmaid Sisters Deliver Epic Musical Toast to Bride

Is this the best wedding toast ever? Sisters steal the show on bride’s big day by singing a medley that leaves guests in stitches.

Hallerman and her groom, Johnny, got their fair share of memorable toasts from loved ones at their California reception – but nothing compares to the musical medley dreamt up by the bride’s sisters Kelsey and Maddie, who also served as her co-maids of honor. In the next five minutes, they go from a slightly cringe rendition of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Give me one reason’ to a Backstreet Boys classic, to a brilliant cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Black or White’ (which they’ve changed to Man or Wife’).

When near and dear ones stand up to deliver a wedding toast, the result is usually part sweet, part silly, a little embarrassing and sometimes downright corny. (Oh, those wedding jokes!) That’s when the magic happens. But the two sisters of a bride in California stole the show with an amazing toast when they sang their own hilarious lyrics to a compilation of well-known songs. What follows is a five-minute medley that borrows beats from Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason,” Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back,” Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody” and Michael Jackson’s “Black or White,” and includes lyrics they wrote about the newlyweds’ love story, from first date to wedding day. “When you were a little kid, you didn’t want boys around.

Captured on camera at the West Shore Cafe and Inn, in Lake Tahoe, the sisters take to the stage and tell their sister they are about to step out of her shadow. It was their turn to give a toast so instead of a typical cliché speech, the sisters opted for an epic mash-up of songs for their sister, Caitlin, and her new husband, John Weaver. And during the latter song, the duo sing about the time they quizzed Kate about John after their first date together at the cinema – some of the lines have guests in fits of laughter. Although they admit immediately they don’t have any vocal chops, they decided to kick things off with Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason” to introduce both the bride and the groom to the wedding party.

The performance was a hit at the party – and was especially well-received by Caitlin and Johnny, who are both seen laughing and tearing up in the video above.
