‘The Bachelorette': Kaitlyn Chooses Final Two Guys, Fighting Ensues.

He may be fairly young at 26, but he’s also an absolute class act who may actually be too good for this show, and perhaps this world, and definitely all sweaters.

They’ve pissed each other off, they’ve pissed us off and they’ve even pissed our Bachelorette off. “Nick and Shawn hate each other,” Kaitlyn Bristowe said on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette. “It’s actually taking away from what I feel about both of them.” “I just hope Kaitlyn’s as smart as I think it is,” he said before the rose ceremony. “It’s hard for me to imagine that she keeps us both after this. We’d also like to suggest that he be given a horse sidekick to keep him company throughout the season, because we were definitely digging that little convo he had with Archie, his feisty horse friend. The reality show’s episode began with Shawn and Nick still bickering, until they both agreed to stop this petty nonsense and respect each other as rivals. (Just kidding.

They’re actually big fans of the petty nonsense.) Kaitlyn’s first date was with Ben, where she revealed that she has never ridden a horse before and was worried that they can smell fear. That date, during which they rode horses, were chased by donkeys, and dined in a castle before settling into a private suite, was one that we would have loved to be on. His began with Kaitlyn riding a horse for the first time, which was kind of brilliant, as far as dates go. “I’ve got these two guys acting like they’re in high school, and having this feud, and wasting precious time,” Kaitlyn told Chris Harrison, “And then I’ve got Ben, who’s just the greatest. Yep, Ben H. was sadly rejected by Kaitlyn at this season’s final rose ceremony, and half our heart broke for him while the other half was pretty excited that he is now single.

During the date, Kaitlyn said, “It felt like a fairy tale, riding on a horse with a beautiful man,” although she apparently neglected to acknowledge that most fairy tales don’t involve a fight over the words “Eskimo brothers” breaking out between the two other guys you’re dating. Later, Ben pointed out that he’s younger than Kaitlyn and called her “the hottest older woman I’ve ever seen,” proving that Ben is still learning the finer points of this whole dating thing. No question in my mind, I think Ben would make a great husband.” “My heart is beating out of my chest right now,” she said, clearly exaggerating, given her dress was cut down to her waist and you could see, well, her entire chest.

Nick and Shawn have been the clear final two since as soon as Nick arrived, and everyone else was really only there because they had to be in order to make the show interesting. Kaitlyn, 30, had been hoping her decision would be easier, but after a day of horseback riding in Galway — followed by what one can only guess was a revealing overnight date — she wasn’t sure what to do. “I had a great time with Ben last night,” she said. “We had a lot of fun. It’s not totally clear what went on during their overnight date (a welcome diversion from all the kissing and telling that’s been this season’s norm) but the two “only slept a half an hour” and had “a good time.” First up is Ben, the 26-year-old software salesman who Bachelor Nation is lobbying hard to be the next Bachelor. It was clearly getting to Kaitlyn too, because her idea of a date with Shawn was forcing him to wear a pink shirt and then nothing at all to play a round of golf. Last week, Ben told Kaitlyn the Fantasy Suite was laden with outrageous expectations and that he’d just as well spend the time off-camera talking all night, leading Kaitlyn to believe he must be gay.

Ben assures her he is into ladies—her specifically—and takes Chris Harrison’s offer to “forgo his individual suite” and have the “best sleepover ever” with Kaitlyn in the 19th century castle. I don’t ever want to talk to that guy again, I don’t want to see him, I just want to be with Kaitlyn.” Said Nick, who was runner-up to Josh Murray in Andi Dorfman’s season: “It’s down to two, once again.

He’d earlier told Kaitlyn that Shawn had bragged about being “eskimo brothers” with a friend (I’ll leave that to you to Google) and basically cut Shawn down in front of her. With the lack of adventure dates (not counting boxing and the bird-filled haunted house), love puns have been hard to come by this season, but we get an exceptionally weak one here. “Golf is a lot like love, in that it’s something you can do until you’re old and grey,” Shawn said, then proceeds to play terrible golf, knocking ball after ball into the water hazard. Then, Nick waited outside after Shawn and Kaitlyn’s overnight date, in a way that wasn’t creepy at all, and there was definitely nothing creepy or horror movie-like about his, “Hello, Shawn.” The two of them had it out again, and it was all the same crap they’ve always been arguing about. With all the sex and talking about sex this season, an innocent nakey run through the course, black bar covering his genitals and all, somehow manages to be one of the more PG moments.

Nick talked to his mom and told her that Kaitlyn is “great at making out,” since clearly his mom would be concerned that Kaitlyn was only a so-so kisser. Finally, Nick and Kaitlyn get some time to themselves, where Nick told her they should make babies, which resulted in Kaitlyn basically dying from laughter. Nick’s family was understandably concerned about Nick going through this show for a second time, but they definitely liked Kaitlyn, and she seemed to pass the test with Nick’s younger sister, Bella.

Kaitlyn suggested he cover his manhood with that “little glove of his, no large glove of his”, but instead he was protected by that famous black box. Then, Shawn’s dad demonstrated how much he has liked getting to know Kaitlyn by asking Shawn about their relationship, “What the hell’s going on?” Nice to get that vote of confidence. His sisters loved her, they assured her that Shawn is as good as he seems, and they told Shawn they could see the connection. “When were were back in Texas I told you I was falling in love with you, and that’s not the truth. Maybe we’ve become so jaded at this point in our television-watching career that those words mean nothing to us anymore, but that was a weird let down. Kaitlyn didn’t say “I love you back,” and then she left, and then Shawn cried, and Kaitlyn cried, despite how well everything just went, and because of how well everything just went.

And to think about, oh my gosh, we might be going down that road again, there is definitely some apprehensions.” Said his mom, Mary: “He went through a lot. She also — and fair enough — said she can’t imagine someone putting Nick through this again, if she wasn’t going to pick him. “I say to myself, I can’t imagine Kaitlyn bringing him all this way to break his heart, but that’s not fair of me to say, I’m just being a protective mom,” she told Kaitlyn. “I wouldn’t if I didn’t see a future with Nick,” Kaitlyn reassured her. “I really wouldn’t, that is something that I do consider and think about.” Nick’s youngest sister Bella — who won hearts everywhere when she quizzed Andi — asked Kaitlyn if she loved her brother. “I care about your brother a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot,” said Kaitlyn. “I love the person he is. He makes me happy.” Nick, a 34-year-old software sales executive, is trying not to be as cocky as he was in Andi’s season — but, like Shawn, he’s convinced Kaitlyn loves him. “Last time, I was so confident.

I was very naive last time, not to realize no matter how you feel about a situation you don’t know what else is going on,” he told his mom. “And with Kaitlyn, I don’t get that sense. His mother “can’t make it” but his sisters and father are there to give her the once-over. “Whatever they say goes,” and he says he’ll take a step back if they aren’t on board.
