Bones and Sleepy Hollow Are Crossing Over And Nothing Makes Sense But We …

Bones And Sleepy Hollow Will Cross Over This Season.

Next spring, one of Fox’s longest-running dramas is reportedly joining forces with one of its newer dramas to create the strangest TV crossover event ever, which we are officially deeming Hollow Bones.

Described as being sexy with an unsuspected physical prowess, Betsy Ross is the famous seamstress known and loved for sewing our nation’s first flag by day, but by night she’s a dynamic, secret operative within George Washington’s mysterious ring of spies. The trades have been reporting a huge crossover episode between two unrelated TV shows for a little while, now, but on Wednesday we finally learned exactly what that crazy crossover is going to entail. That’s right, history-mining fantasy thriller Sleepy Hollow is being creatively meshed with the long-running crime-solving dramedy Bones to crossover characters.

The show is replenishing its series regular roster for the new season, after Katia Winter and John Noble’s characters were killed at the end of season two, and Orlando Jones exited the series before filming commenced on season three. Her romantic history with Ichabod (Tom Mison) is less of a secret. “We are all very excited to welcome Nikki Reed into the world of Sleepy Hollow,” co-creator/EP Len Wiseman told THR. “Nikki’s the perfect choice to bring a smart and sexy edge to our show’s twisted version of American icon, Betsy Ross.”

News has confirmed that and Sleepy Hollow will be crossing over in one big event later this season, which is both the worst and best idea we’ve ever heard. We’ve known for a while that an oddball pairing would occur during the 2015-2016 TV season, and Fox has been planning the crossover episodes for some time. Despite the fact that one show takes place in a world where time travel, magic, and supernatural creatures exist and the other definitely does not, showrunners have apparently found some way to meld the two shows together for what we’re hoping is one night only of pure insanity.

Similar to how Chicago Fire has crossed over with other NBC properties, there will be two Fox crossover episodes, one airing during the timeslot and another during the timeslot. The plan was to have these episodes hit the schedule sooner rather than later, but EW confirms that they won’t be happening until well after the fall, now. Usually crossovers are done between very similar programs, often existing in the same storytelling universe — like among the NCIS or CSI franchises. We also currently don’t know if this will just be leads Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane meeting up with Booth and Brennan and vice versa or if the full casts of both shows will be involved. What we do know is that Sleepy Hollow was a bubble show this past season, and hopefully the new timeslot and the big crossover episodes will help the show to beef up its viewership a little bit.

So, without further ado, we present to you our ideas for how to merge Bones and : — Bones accidentally gets sent back to colonial times after she touches a really old bone, and starts leaving messages for Booth in the future. Abbie and Ichabod also start discovering these strange messages, and set out to figure out where the messages are coming from and how to save whoever is leaving them. No matter what, this has the potential to be a really fun exercise for the writing staff, and a really unique segue away from the norm for regular watchers of either of the dramas.

— Booth is so stressed out over his gambling problem that he passes out and dreams that he’s a Revolutionary War soldier who suddenly finds himself in modern times, where he runs into police officer Bones and together they try to stop the apocalypse, with no help from their daughter Christine, who’s now the Horseman of War. Suddenly, Bones is faced with a guy who should have died two hundred years ago, and Booth manages to track down Ichabod and Abbie to consult on the strange case.
