Bindi Irwin crowned winner of Dancing With The Stars.

The 17-year-old, who was a favourite to win after nabbing several perfect scores throughout the series, pipped fellow celebrities, former Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and US Army national guardsman Alek Skarlatos, and took home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.

Cementing her status as America’s new golden girl, the 17-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, along with partner Derek Hough – who already has five mirror ball trophies under his belt – earned their eighth perfect score ith a cha cha/Argentine tango.Bindi Irwin – who wowed both viewers and the judges with her humility and irresistible charm all season – was named the season 21 champion of Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday night. While both Irwin and Carter were awarded perfect scores of 30 for their routines, the viewer votes combined with the judges scoring meant Irwin placed first.

We have our Champions! ⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨ Please retweet to congratulate them! “Thank you for changing my life!” – The Champ #DWTSFinale “I have dedicated this entire journey to all of you and my beautiful family. Irwin, 17, seemed to be a lock from the start, and not just because she was paired with the show’s most popular pro. (Tuesday’s win marks Hough’s sixth since joining the show in 2007). The favourite throughout the entire series, the 17-year-old seemed genuinely shocked when she won and claimed again that the experience had changed her life.

All three stars danced a 24-hour fusion challenge to win over the judges, and yep — each of them earned a near perfect score. (Alek technically got a 27, but still, pretty close!) This means the winner was ultimately decided by voters, and let’s just say there was a clear favorite. It was an emotional rollercoaster for Irwin who, in a pre-performance video, once again thanked the show for giving her the opportunity to reflect on the death of Steve. “Here I am given this opportunity to remember moments in my life that I never thought I’d really ever be able to look at and smile,” she said through tears. Next week, Irwin will shun the heels and sequined dresses and be back in her khakis as she returns to Queensland for her brother Robert’s 12th birthday.

Not to be outdone, Bindi’s fellow celebrity contestants also had some truly inspirational moments, by which we mean Kim Zolciak returned and danced the “I Dream of Genie” number that she couldn’t perform due to her ministroke in Week 3.
