Ariana Grande Drops New Single ‘Focus’ An Hour Ahead Of Schedule.

She has been counting down essentially ever since and pronounced the release date on Sept. 15! “this countdown as long af,” she acknowledged on Instagram at the 40-days out point. “but it’s fine because our countdowns are among my personal favorite parts about putting out new music!!!” Grande kept keeping the countdown lively until she finally announced that the audio is readily available for your listening delight on iTunes and teasing buffs: “it’s difficult to tell because of the grayscale filter, but it’s white. It probably comes as no surprise that Ariana Grande’s new single ‘Focus’ has dropped today, since we can’t even remember the last time that a countdown to the release wasn’t trending on Twitter. The trumpet-heavy song, co-written by Ilya Salmanzadeh, Savan Kotecha and Peter Svensson, is the official first single from Ariana’s forthcoming third studio album, rumored to be called “Moonlight”, which will be released later this year via Republic Records.

Nevertheless, you will see this in the video and stuff, you can see how, it looks like Lucius Malfoy, he was kind of my…go to reference.” Funnily enough, Harry Potter alum Tom Felton (who played with Draco Malfoy, Lucius’ son) got wind. Powered by a growing presence at radio and a performance on the syndicated “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the Gold-certified tune is up to #11 on the all-genre US listing. Before we had time to digest the song, another countdown commenced, as Ariana announced on Twitter: “i really feel like I just gave birth…………………. #FOCUS IS FINALLY HERE ~ less than 1 hour till the video (sic)” The video, which is directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who was responsible for Grande’s “Bang Bang” (with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj) and “Love Me Harder” (with The Weeknd), followed soon after. It was this summer at the iHeartMedia Summit, when the CEO of Ariana’s’ label spoke to music industry journalists and radio executives about Ari’s new album, and what they could expect from it. The big, brassy number aptly includes the lyrics ‘focus on me’ because, lets face it, you simply CANNOT take your eyes off her as she struts around in her signature stilettos with newly platinum hair and the most intense dance choreography that you have ever seen.

The new single of powerhouse vocalist Ariana Grande will be without a doubt welcomed with open arms by radios, and given its ‘instant’ likability, I’m convinced Ariana’s fans, aka. the Arianators, will be obsessed with “Focus” since the very first listen. “I can tell you’re curious / It’s written on your lips / Go head and talk your sh*t”, sings Ariana in the second verse of “Focu”. She’s experienced heartbreak (Nathan Sykes, Big Sean), and now she knows she won’t let any man mistreat her, and that from now on she will wear the pants in any new relationship.
