‘Archie’ cartoonist Tom Moore dies at 86 in his native El Paso.

He worked monthly, although the Comic Book Database has only a handful of his credits as writer, penciller, inker and letterer listed due to the incomplete nature of the Database’s Archie Comics records for much of that time. “I’d be doing Christmas issues in June and beach stories with a foot of snow outside my window”. Moore still followed the series after his retirement, during which he taught commercial art at El Paso Community College, and was reportedly upset at the decision to kill off Archie a year ago. “Tom was very amusing and had a knack for putting together really great, hilarious gags and special pages when he worked at Archie”, said Archie Editor-in-Chief Victor Gorelick. “He was probably best known here for inking our “Jughead” relaunch decades ago”.
