Actress And Comedian Anne Meara Dies At 85.

LOS ANGELES (CBSNewYork/AP) — Actress and comedian Anne Meara, whose comic work with husband Jerry Stiller helped launch a 60-year career in film and TV, has died at 85.

Jerry Stiller, who published an autobiography in 2000 called “Married to Laughter,” has worked extensively in television, notably as George Costanza’s bellowing father in “Seinfeld” and as Arthur Spooner on “King of Queens,” and in his son Ben Stiller’s movies, including “Zoolander” and “The Heartbreak Kid.” “Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne,” the family said in the statement.
