June Sarpong pays tribute to her brother, calls his shock death ‘a loss for the world’.

Sam Sarpong, a 40-year-old model who was born in London and lived in Pasadena, California, died on Monday after officers spent seven hours trying to talk him down, local police said.”It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel ‘Sam’ Sarpong, Jr. must share the news that Sam has passed away,” Sarpong’s publicist said in a statement Wednesday. The statement continued, “The family appreciates the thoughts, prayers and other expressions of sympathy, and request their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time.”

Sam wasn’t that well known in the UK – he co-hosted MTV’s Yo Momma – but as an actor in the States, he appeared in TV shows My So-Called Life, Veronica Mars, Everybody Hates Chris, Cold Case, and 24. Thank you for all your messages of condolence.” The case is being investigated as a possible suicide, Los Angeles County coroner’s office said, but added that the official cause of death would not be known until the results of toxicology results come through. Earlier this year he posted a picture of himself with his sister, a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women who recently appeared as part of the campaign to keep Britain in the EU, which he captioned: “with my Supastar sis June”.
