19 really important things we learnt at Comic-Con International 2015.

As Comic-Con International draws to a close in San Diego, we thought we should sum up all the most important things we learnt or that happened at this year’s event. But on Friday, the film’s Comic-Con panel debuted a new, four-minute, behind-the-scenes video, and it’s fair to say the nostalgia is strong in this one.

But in an interview Peter Capaldi told us: “We had to make sure she didn’t give us any GOT spoilers, we didn’t want to know anything at all.” The Doctor Who and Sherlock creator said: “I think Twitter is a useful tool for promoting a show, but I think it is the worst possible form of audience research, it really is.” He left Twitter in 2012. The reel has a bit of everything: discussion of the movie’s practical effects (which look great), awed cast testimony about being on set, and the revelation that Simon Pegg is part of that cast, seemingly playing an alien creature. Peter Capaldi hinted at a large “battle” during an interview and said how Clara is going to whip him into shape in the upcoming series on BBC One in the Autumn.

He said of the teaser image in the BBC tweet above: “The picture hints at a battle, it hints at the Doctor being in a very traditional battlefield, in which he tries to help a victim of war… but it backfires.” As he signed a fans forehead with her name, he said: “I’m going to say this officially – Miley Cyrus is good. She can really sing.” Domhnall Gleeson will play General Hux, with fellow baddies Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma, played by Adam Driver and GoT’s Gwendoline Christie.

Video game Lego Dimensions will include mini versions of the current (12th) Doctor Peter Capaldi and co-stars Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez interacting with characters including Batman and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
